I am an illustrator/designer (currently) based in Melbourne and have dreams to travel more of this inspiring world.
My work is diverse in medium subject and style as, like most, I have a vast array of interests and inspirations. This is reflected in my folio as it behaves as a visual record echoing my exploration of ideas, emotions and personal experience.
My folio showcases my passion for social and political issues, in particular the power of money and the dramatic impact it has on society. This body of work holds a purpose: to create an impact with the viewer, encouraging thought and reflection on confronting issues.
I also have a fascination with text and image from an illustrative angle. I love capturing the emotive qualities of words through the use of visual type design. There is nothing quite so rewarding as capturing the viewer by the beauty of emotion, snatching their attention, pulling on their heart strings and allowing them to personally connect with my illustration.
Narrative and character development has always excited me. To illustrate a substantial narrative has always been a goal. I'm inspired by stories that have me falling in love or passionately despising the characters and developing a understanding and personal connection to them.
I love creating an image that makes a statement and has substance. However, creating an image that is purely visual, crafted for the soul purpose of being visually beautiful is challenging, requires just as much skill and precision, and arguably just as imperative/significant.
I aspire to be recognized for my work as an illustrator/designer who develops original concepts, explores type design and addresses issues of importance. I am a sucker for hand drawn type, punchy clever graphics and playful innovative designs. I embrace technology and its expanding possibilities for the creative realm.
OH! And I’m always ready to be apart of something BIG!
